I've heard some good things about this school but no one here seems to have heard of it. Anyone know anything about this school?

Total Cowboys,

Dont do it. I worked there in 2007.

They will rip you off with regards to the hours they make you work and they organise your schedule to ruin your day as much as possible.

I ended up working 9.20am to 7.40 pm pretty much everyday.

The head of the kindergarten is lovely, the head of the hagwon is an idiot (David Brentish) and the Director is an evil dictator who has money printed with her face on for the kids to buy things from each other. All very odd.

DO NOT DO IT!

hansol is KINDY! It's the worse ESL job in korea.

Unless you are 70 years old, black, yellow, brown, overweight, and have one arm and one leg, DO NOT teach kindy.....

I know some that work there and GOD, they are a miserable lot....

but, if you are desperate, go for it and have fun!

Can anyone explain why teaching kindy is so bad? I've seen enough posts about how bad the little tykes are to sort of take it as gospel already, but no one really explains what it is that makes it so bad.

I just got a job offer from Hanslang in Incheon, as the original poster did, and I'm trying to get some feedback on the school itself, and why kindy is so bad, of course.

Any input would be most welcome.

just got done working there about 5 months ago. The kindy part is really nice, small classes of cute kids and you aren't really bothered at all and can do what you like within a frame work of course. The kindy director is great and nice also. That being said I hated the afternoon classes. Kids didn't listen and didn't participate which is kinda expected but the lack of communication of management and between korean and westerners was baffling- as in communication did not exist in almost any sense. Sorry to say it left a little bit of a bad taste in my mouth about korean people even though I know this is not always the norm. They do have a large foreign staff which is really good because you shouldn't count on them to help you out with anything even though you are in a new country. Over all it really wasn't that bad but thats not saying much by hagwon standards. I am dead set on working in Seoul now though. It wasn't bad for a first job but don't expect too much and don't allow yourself to be pushed around at all because they will try. I don't think one teach I worked with is still working there and thats saying a lot because there was 11 of us.
