I like to do pull ups so I want to try and bring my iron gym with me unless some assures me that they are available over there.

I have a question about doorways inside apartments. Do they have molding or anything that could support one of these? Here is a pic to show how it works.

sometimes the doors do, it would just depend on the apt you get here.

imo, dont waste space on one of them. They sell similar things here.

Out of interest, where in Seoul could I pick one of those up? I have one doorway it would work on but the rest don't have mouldings. Might just DIY.

I pack pretty light so I have a whole checked bag free for extra stuff like this. I'm moving to incheon at the end of the month, if I can't use it at my place I'll sell it to you for 20 usd.

Strange coincidence. I've gotten in to rock climbing a few months ago, and I do pull ups quite a bit. I just saw some indoor contraption in this small sporting goods store at my apartment a couple of hours ago - 37,000 won. I wouldn't waste space packing one. Just spend 20,000 won or so, and you'll be alright.

If you are living in a typical 1-room apartment, the only doorway you will likely find narrow enough to use one will be the bathroom door or the front door you use for entrance(obviously needing to be open) At least in my apartment the only other doorway is a double sliding door (the frame for both doors is about 5 feet wide) and I sure would not want to use the glass door as a base to extend the bar to.

I have a simple extender one (bought at e-mart for 29,000 won) in my bathroom door. The door frame is wood so it holds up well. The only possible issue I could imagine is that the moisture might eventually invade the padded grips. Not really an issue now but when winter comes bathroom steam will get it wet...guess I will have to be taking it down after use. Of course i must bend my knees going down, but it gets the job done although doesn't allow much room for a wide grip.

For the one in your picture, I would be weary of it simply because if you did have any type of molding around a doorway it is probably only held on with some type of glue or caulk. Most walls here are concrete and do not lend themselves well to finishing nails or staples that would typically be used for wooden molding secured to wooded support.

Since we're on the topic of pull ups and chin ups . . . does anyone here do those around-the-world pull ups? Do a youtube search - that exercise looks like it could screw up your rotator cuffs.

The picture looks like the device is actually attached to the wall above the moulding. That will work in Korea, but you'll need a drill with a concrete bit to drill the holes for it since all the walls are made of concrete.

I think it would be just as easy to buy one here that you know will work here and give or sell yours.

Another great exercise device that you can use with a door is the TRX.
