Yeah but even though I love Jordan, I think that considering his shady departure from the league (most saying betting on games) I don't think he had the right to be as cocky as he was in that speech. Sure, he's the best overall player in the history of basketball, and he's richer than any other athlete in history, but come on, have a shred of dignity, or selflessness, or something. I love Jordan, I do, but watching those videos of him acting all cocky when he goes to youth basketball camps and dunks on little kids is kinda lame. Kinda REALLY lame.

Cocky and confident is one thing, but its the hall of fame and you should show a bit of humility and tact, thank the people who helped you get there and not use it as a pulpit to shame your family, settle old scores and just be crass and tasteless like Jordan did.
Gangsters killed Jordan's father because of his son's gambling debts.

I loved Jordan and Pippin, can't really think of a modern partnership that compares. Maybe LeBron and Wade this year although Wade will play the Jordan role with LeBron as Pippen.

Personally I think there is more overall talent in the NBA right now than there was in the mid 90s. It is a great time to watch the league.

As far as Jordan being an ass in his speech...what did you expect? He has always been like that. Nothing has changed about his personality.

Come on man! You telling me Mike can't pay his bills! I dont think so. The two fellas that killed his dad were just thugs. Heck one guy wore his dad's suit to his trial.

As for your theory Shapeshifter, sorry, you're wrong. Under 40. Well under 40, especially when I signed up here a few years ago.

Thought Pippen didn't get enough respect, because he was overshadowed by Jordan and funny looking.

Pippen was awesome, I have been watching some youtube clips of him after he was announced to the hall of fame, he was a true all rounder.

"Who do you feel was the best 1-2 punch the past decade in the NBA?"

I don't think you could argue anyone against Kobe/Shaq. If I were a hater, which I am not, I might possibly 'hate' the fakers. Lakers ruined it for so many good teams. Dallas might have had one. Sixers maybe. San Antonio maybe 2-3 more were it not for the fakers.

But Jordan ruined it for so many more, that is why he is as cocky as he is. Not classy, just cocky.

Kevin Durant is pretty amazing to watch.
Go Thunder!!!

"when Shaq was in his prime and any good 2/3 guard in the upper tier would have complimented Shaq"

Shaq got a lot of preferential treatment from refs in the NBA. It was good for the NBA and Hollywood for this guy to win so much. Not taking anything away from Shaq's dominance, but I feel like the NBA started getting real 'shI++ ie' during this period and has gotten worse every year. But, I love this game.

and Kobe is still the best.
