So I need a nice presidential suit.

I found some outdated discussion on suits, mentioning Hahns in Itaewon and a few others.

Seems shops could be baiting and perhaps overcharging tourists/foreigners there. There's gotta be other places in Seoul that have the same quality for cheaper. Or maybe that is the best spot, but I'm not sure.

So can anyone recommend a place to get a nice conservative suit?(I'm not looking for the latest Korean style; one button blinding-fabric suit) Have you heard or purchased one recently? It doesn't have to be custom-tailored, although if the price is right I may lean that way.

Dainty in the Kangam area is a great place to have a suit tailor-made. Prices start at around 250k moving up to 400k. It's quite popular with Korean busiessmen.

Just had a suit made up at Dynasty in Itaewon. Not saying it's the worlds best kept secret but i liked the price (320), choice, timescale, fit and tailor just fine, plus getting alterations on another suit at a very reasonable rate. Would go back. Down the lane on your left before McDonalds then on the right on the corner, google for directions and other reviews.

Thanks fellas.

Both sound really reasonable.

Gwangjuboy, do you know how to get to Dainty in Gangnam? Did some searching but came up empty.

Take exit 8 at Sinsa station and walk towards 기업은행 (Industrial Bank of Korea). I should also let you know that my info on prices is about 3 years old, but I can't imagine that they have increased massively since then; if at all.

I really thought the president would have tailors who go to Cheongwadae to size him up and bring him his suits.

Geez, when the president of Korea has to ask where to buy a suit from on Daves - thats just....

I've used Hahn and Dynasty in Itaewon and can recommend both! However, a friend just told me its better to go down toward Osan where the suits are supposedly super inexpensive. Meaning I could have gotten two for the one I bought at Hahns.

I might check it out.

This is a fact.

I personally reccomend Mr. Bo's QG in Songtan (near Osan).

Mr. Yun (Bo) speaks English, has been in business over 20 years, and does the best work I've seen (and I've gone to a few shops, including some in Itaewon, over the years).

If he doesn't have the fabric you want, he'll find it. He was also able to custom tailor some shirts for me with a non-traditional design.

He's a super nice guy too.

Suits are 200k, and shirts, are 35k, and they are WELL MADE.

Make sure to negotiate prices in won, not dollars, as all the businesses around the bases love to try to make money off the exchange rate.

Here's thier website with contact info and directions.
