Urggh. I think this is the... third time I've been late. I'm such a bad person.

I'm still stuck in my student lock, in which it's impossible to sleep before 3am - I've tried. I've derived myself of sleep entirely on Sunday in order to go bed earlier Sunday night. Doesn't work. I either sleep longer hours as a result, or have a nap in the evening and then don't get tired until 3am.

And as a consequence I've been sleeping 5 hour nights this month and waking up knackered. All the alarms in the world it seems cannot prevent me being late.

Maybe it's my diet. Maybe it's the computer. I need to turn the computer off.
It's not my fault, it's yours!

Luckily I'm the favoured foreign teacher so I just have to start ten minutes earlier tomorrow, rather than get 25 minutes of being yelled at and getting on the verge of being fired. But still.

Hmmm. You could try a full series of stretches and put on an audiobook at 11pm. I've been doing that, and most of the time it does the trick. I also set my alarm clock as well as my cell phone alarm to get up.

I want a PeeWee Herman-style wake up!

I was thinking more of a Wallace and Gromit style wake up call. That might just be sufficient.

I have a traditional bell alarm clock that bashes away until I get out of bed and turn it off, and 5 alarms on my phone. I somehow manage to turn them all off without waking up.

It's pretty impressive. I was also thinking about making myself read before bed, reading tends to get me tired always at the wrong time.

And yeah, I fully expect people to tell me to grow up etc, almost a social experiment to a loose degree.

Actually I was just complaining, but w/e.

Strenuous excercise will help tire you out and help you sleep easilier. Also, try shutting off all electronics before you plan to sleep. Noises and lights, however minimal, could affect your sleep. I've found being in rooms with dim lighting will make me tired (guess it simulates the setting sun).

I love that, but it always looked a bit painful, pants-wise.

How do you get to work? Walking, biking, bus, etc?

Make it harder to access to turn off. Such as putting it under your bed so you have to crawl under to turn it off. That should wake you up. Smile

Get yourself a clocky. That'll get you up. And if it doesn't, the next option is the sonic bomb alarm clock.

I was hoping this was going to about someone who either missed her period, or a ne'er-do-well who caused a lady to do the same.... Crying or Very sad

Sorry... Dave's posts always seem to give a good buzz of Schadenfreude. Dave is like a pimp for that kind of stuff... Wink

That clocky is amazing! I can completely picture myself struggling and wishing death to rain upon the nation whilst trying to stop that.
That will be my next purchase.

Also Urban Myth, Good plan. It's the other side of the room at the moment so I have to get up, but that's all I have to do. I might lock it in a box and then put the key under the mat outside. *evil laugh even though it's my own demise*

It's your fault. You didn't know thyself. You should have taken one of the thousands of afternoon hagwon jobs where you don't need to teach until 2 or 3pm. In fact, I've known plenty of hagwon teachers over the years who say they regularly sleep from 3am until noon, loving the lifestyle of that routine.

Try this alarm clock. My sister uses it.
