Hey can anyone tell me the names of the biggest House music clubs in Apkujeong?

That'll play Deep / Soul / Funk House tunes all night, I've been to M2 and wasn't impressed. It starts with some nice deep house but towards peak time. It switches over to electro.

We're just looking for something to groove to all night.

Thanks.

Btw I've heard about Club Answer, but I don't know what kind of music they play.

Uhhh...clubs play club music. You won't find many electro-purists in Korea. The clubs cater to the mainstream tastes...i would say most of the places will play music you can really dance to though. Answer, Heaven, Eden and on some special nights Mass are my favorite places to go.

Deep house is in short supply in Seoul....My friend regularly host events at luv lounge that does deep house though...

Some lounges play deep house.

In Apgu, it's all lounges except for monkey beach....I think the last proper club there was Circle and Elec(interesting story about the closing of that one).

Gangam/chungdam are is where all the clubs are a south of the river....'I think there is a new one one near Jamsil though.

Electro has nice beats and its great to get the party kicking. But that's like pure adrenaline. I'm not too surprised pure house is hard to find here. Most foreigners don't even know the difference between techno, trance, house, soul, funk, or even minimal. It all sounds the same to them.

If this was states, you don't even have to bother with clubs. Just drop by a rave.

Ukon I was actually thinking the same thing. Even though Lounge's aren't really for dancing. If you don't mind. Can you list the top 5 lounges for deep house? Any side of the river is fine.

By the way does anybody know what kind of music Club Mansion in Hongdae plays? The 'Get away from the crazy 20 yr olds' atmosphere might be what I'm looking for.

Thanks

Agreed, clubs here are full of dolled-up, drunk 20-something Koreans dancing to pitched up commercial electro house / hip hop while flashing their Louis Vutton / Prada gear. Doesn't matter what's playing as long as the Veuve Clicquot or Moet is flowing.

Best club for decent music week in week out is Joker Red in Hongdae. The guys there bash out the underground techno religiously but the place is usually dead. Koreans just don't get it.

They have very small psytrance / drum and bass scenes here but apart the few westerners who track these nights down and go to them, Koreans don't seem to follow the music that much.

You do get some big international names in Seoul but these are poorly advertised on English language sites. I've pieced together the following sites (in Korean) that have dance club listings. They might be helpful for you;

http://www.clubvolume.com/schedule
http://www.02pro.com/
http://www.eden-club.co.kr/
http://www.partyluv.com/

Again, don't expect the same as back home.

I'd agree about Joker Red, although it's in Hongdae not Apgujeong. Good deep house but the club is not exactly swanky. Their Sequential night usually gets quite busy. Next one is on August 28th actually.

Best clubs, IMO, are the ones that crank the hiphop Booty music to get the girls grinding on dudes.
