|
|
Hello,
I understand that recently the most popular satellite provider in the Philippines changed providers for their satellite signals to a Korean satellite. Will that change the reception area? Will we be able to receive Philippine satellite service in Korea?
Any technical advice would be helpful? I am afraid my knowledge of satellite TV is limited. |

You'd need a receiver to even begin with to start playing around. Do you have a satellite system from there? |

No idea and the company likely won't tell you.
It will be outside their supported area.
You'd have to get data on the satellite, how and where it is pointed, etc. Just because it's a korean satellite doesn't mean it's actually pointed at Korea. |

OP, if you are in Seoul, drop by the Philippine Embassy in Itaewon. The last time I was there (which has been a while) there were adverts in the lobby about how to get Filipino satellite tv. Just around the corner is a small Filipino shop/sari sari store which also has info about the service. They had Filipino tv showing all the time in there.
I haven't been to either place in a year or so, so I don't know if this info is out of date. But those are definitely places to look. |

My in-laws have been here 2 months from PI and all they watch is Filiipino tv on Justin.tv. There is also pinoy tv site that is always playing ABS-CBN shows. Dont even have to pay for a dish set up! |
