Has anyone used Korean Immigration's online application to extend your date of departure after your E-2 expires?

After using it, do you have to take your ARC in to the immigration office, or is there just some certificate you can print out?

Would anyone recommend bypassing the e-application altogether and just doing it in person?

Thanks.

I did it earlier this year and it worked out fine - they approve it and then you download a certificate that you bring with you to the airport when you leave.

Process takes about 3-4 days compared to 15 minutes at the actual office so it's up to you!

Hi There,

I used this service and it went haywire for me a little. It came back 'returned'. However when I went in to the office itself they stamped my passport no problem. Give the onlline thing a try if you have a few days to wait. I had trouble as my flight ticket was not in the right format.

Good Luck

Thanks guys. I decided to go straight to the immi office today while I still had time. It went off without a hitch, even though I gave them an itinerary with a round-trip ticket (I'm coming back here with a new E-2 - no switching employers on this one, thanks to the policies of you-know-who). Once I was called the whole process was done inside of 20 minutes. They gave me a new stamp in the "additional changes in registration information" section on the back of my CRC. Even though my flight leaves in about 25 days, they gave me a 30-day extension anyway, which I thought was pretty cool.
