To those who teach at multiple small rural schools...
Do the Korean teachers get shuffled from school to school like the waygook, or do they just end up with very light schedules because of a lack of kids? Just wondering. |

| Yes, it's possible K-teacher will get moved around. The local BOE will try to get teachers to teach as close to 20 hours as possible, even K-teachers. The teachers you might have a good chance seeing shuffled around are the music, art and home ec./shop teachers. |

The schools you'll be going to will be within their jurisdiction, so it's doubtful. But with foreign teachers they often arrange another teacher to pick them up. Really rural schools (I'm talking 100 or less students) tend to treat their teachers very very well. |

| I have 3 small schools. 49 coed, 60 all girls, 54 all boys. I haven't seen or heard of a full time teacher moving from school to school. But there is a "conversation" teacher(not certified) who goes between 2 of the schools. They do give them a few extra supplementary classes but nothing heavy. Most of my cot's have about 16-18 hrs and that's with supplementary. I get 150,000 a month for travel.I ride the bus to all of my schools except 1 and my co-teacher picks me up but I ride bus home because my VP lets me go home real early. I enjoy the laid back atmosphere of 2 of them. The other is a pain in th butt because it's connected to the Gyeongbuk Automoble HS and they are all on the same schedule. My co-t tries to do things by the book and she has no idea how to co-teach or work with anyone but herself. |

It all depends where you are too. If the area you're in has a surplus of teachers they can't fire them, and probably freeze hiring when a teacher in a particular subject retires. They also can make a teacher teach another subject. I've seen an art teacher teaching math. Also, you're probably at your 3 schools on different days, so who knows who isn't there on the days you're there. |
