Hello all,

I'm going to the Busan Film Festival this October. Could anyone let me know if there is a way to buy tickets in advance? I live in Suwon, so I would hate to get there and find that the best shows are sold out.

Thanks in advance.

Yes you can, although watch out, they tend to sell out fast!

They usually release the tickets a couple of weeks before the festival starts.

You can book online (foreigner ID OK) and by phone. You can also visit Pusan Bank and queue up when the bank opens.

But like I said they sell out fast, very fast. I think you might be able to buy them via ATMs as well, maybe GS Mart.

After the first day you can buy them online or at the bank, but most tickets will be sold out apart from the outdoor movies.

When the festival starts you can't buy anymore tickets online or at the bank. They do sell a bunch of tickets for each movie on the viewing date though. Tickets go on sale at 9am and again, sell out quickly. They only sell them at ticket booths, and you can't buy them online.

Tip. Many people will buy on impulse and buy some for friends, but then later they'll change their minds, friends can't go etc etc. Keep checking for tickets up until the start of the festival as sometimes you can get lucky.

One more thing, at each movie theater there is a booth where people can leave their unwanted tickets (if they are sold, the original owners will get a refund). It's worth checking there for any spare tickets. If haven't been able to get a ticket for anything then hang around there 10 mins before a movie starts and you might be able to bag something!
