Cheers and thanks for all the replies

I cant fathom why Seinfeld hasn't caught on here when a weak show like Friends has. What's more, there are constant re-runs of VH1-style shows and reality TV, could it be that Koreans understand that better? I think its more pop status than being culturally interchangable.

I showed her the Butter Shave and Yada Yada. She especially liked Yada Yada when George's gf mentioned she saw her ex and "Yada yada"-ed the sex Question

Kosher food? Is that the episode where Elaine becomes a Shik-Sa?

Top o' The Muffin might get a good response, or the pirate shirt. I'm just trying to think of things Koreans understand - plastic surgery, tanning, store made baked goods, stupid clothing, etc.

Definitely "The Understudy" ...

Jerry dates Bette Midler's understudy. Jerry's Improv softball team plays the cast of Bette Midler's "Rochelle,Rochelle" , in a game of softball. It's a take on the Tanya Harding-Nancy Kerrigan incident.
The sub-plot is Elaine visiting a Korean manicure shop...with some Korean dialogue...

My Korean wife loved "The Soup Nazi" episode as well!

Like others have said, it's too nuanced for most non native speakers to follow. The Understudy was very funny ALSO because it tied in the whole "young girls erotic journey from milan to minsk!" with the Rochelle Rochelle thing, which, on it's face is not funny. How's the viewing going, OP?

showed her The Visa and my favorite: The Implant

She liked when Jerry kept asking if he was funny and when he called for Babu in Visa. I was laughing uncontrollably in Impant when George tried to scheme a discount fare just for being "the boyfriend" Rolling Eyes Laughing Laughing

She's already telling me how much I resemble Kramer... Laughing

To Koreans, most foreign men resemble Kramer, with their ridiculous spazzing, strange curly hair, and lack of a wife at 35. Please understand, it Korean culture.

The dip/chip part must have been good for her English, I hope.

I always show the Korean nail shop episode. (College students, mind you.)

Not sure how they like the Seinfeld.

In China, whoever posted, you can find whole series of TV shows on DVD for super cheap. I got a student hooked in Xian after her parents bought it for Christmas when I suggested she watch it.

"Soup Nazi" is always nice. Anything that has the Yankees in it, too.

The Opposite is one of my favorite episodes, and I'm sure Koreans would enjoy it to. It is the episode where George decides to do everything the opposite of what he normally does. He approaches random women, yells at people in the movie theatre, and even gets a job at the New York Yankees after giving Steinbrenner a piece of his mind. It touches on male-female relationships, personalities, and the New York Yankees - all topics Koreans could relate to I suppose.

Yeah, trying to explain jokes is tough. We tend to make fun of each other and Ks don't as much.

Oh yes they do-- they are far more brutal than Americans (but they'd never tell you)

Elaine: Boys are sick.
Jerry: Well, what do girls do?
Elaine: Nothing. We just tease someone until they develop an eating disorder.
