Hi Folks
This is my first time posting on here and I could really use some advice on how to extend my visa past the thirty days alotted for 'an extension of departure. I'm currently under a E-2 visa which will end 9/1 and I'll be getting a plane ticket to extend my visa an extra 30 days, until 10/1. However, I'm interested in extending it further, maybe a week or so.
I'm aware I could leave the country and re-enter as a tourist under a tourist visa but I'm not entirely sure of the process. Hopefully someone could explain to me how the dynamics work (I've checked the immigration website but I'd like to get second and third opinions)
For those not familiar, 'an extension of departure' is basically an extension past the visa deadline, provided there's proof of leaving Korea. Any postive comments and feedback are welcome ^^. |

You cannot extend your E2 Visa beyond the thirty day limit without sponsor.
Your only option is to leave and then come back on a 90 day tourist visa. |

Hi There,
+1.
The tourist visa for many english speaking countries is given automatically at the airport.
Your employer could not expect work unless they sponsor you again. |

No can do.
You need to leave and come back if you want a further extension. |
