I just saw one:

Must have F2 or F5 Visa, 9 hours a day, 2.2 million.

Seriously? Is there an F Visa holder dumb enough to take this job?

Yeah, that's pretty ridiculous since they just cut themselves off from any newbies dumb enough to take take. I could see an F-4 who's never been to Korea but an F-2 or F-5?!?!

I've always wondered that too.

Who are the people that are working 9 to 7?

Why would you ever agree to that?

Because it was my first teaching gig, the location is halfway decent, and the joint is reputable. Though it's only 9-6:30, and that's only MWF. I prefer this to one of the 2-9 deals.

How much do they pay? It would have to be a shitload of money for me to work a ten hour day.

I still maintain the opinion that it is crazy.

By the end of the year, people new to Korea will be clawing each others eyes out just to get the 9 hour a day 2.0 mil jobs. The end is fast approaching.

Pretty soon, I figure it'll be just the opposite if this downward trend continues.

Seriously. The paper trail is just crazy, and soon they'll figure out a 3rd or 4th doc to be notarized and apostilled, the ex rate hasnt been good for 2 years (if you're American), and most recruiters have bad hogwons in random cities I've never or barely heard of, rural public schools, and GEPIK. What a noob has to go through now (paperwork, competition, exchange rate, limited pool of jobs, consulate interview, etc) for just a bad job is apalling. When unemployment gets better in a few years, what 22-25 year old is going to come here when they can get a great paying job back home without going through all the visa motions, and leaving their home and family for a full year?

Some of the jobs I've seen with crazy hours pay 40,000 won/(classroom) hour or more. This really really adds up after a while.
