i have been told that the English language sounds like dogs barking. I gotta tell you that compared to a loud adjumma, their dogs would be a welcome relief.

I've had a similar experience on a train in Busan. It was an old woman cursing at us and telling us to shut and (and probably that that she could see my friend bra strap) stop being such chartatons.

anyways, compared to a subway back home, we were being fine...telling stories at a reasonable volume but laughing very loud and hard. She started going off.

I said to my friends (in english) "I guess this poor old woman doesn't like to watch people have a good time"....two of three koreans near by chuckled.
In fact, the whole car looked VERY uncomfortable at this old woman yelling. A group of high school boys were laughing at her (and at us i think). Other than that, everyone in the car looked REALLY uncomfortable. And when the old woman changed seats to move further away from us (and kept complaining), the other two people who she would have been sitting beside got disgusted looks on their faces and took off.

For all the jackasses who have given me a hard time, there have been at LEAST two or three dozen Koreans who would have liked to help but felt powerless for one reason or another.

A different time, some nutty drunk ajoshi got in in the subway and started waving around a fircracker. All the koreans felt DAMNED uncomfortable., and eventually, an older woman who had her grandchildren REALLY started to rag him out. IT was great to see. But the retard kept arguing with her and cursing infront of her kids.
Eventually a group of college boys started saying "Yeah, i know are they blah blah blah..." looking over at us with an apologetic look and a roll of the eyes. They led him out of the subway car.

Hey, my question to everyone: Do prefer it when kids say "waygook" or "ajoshi/ajuma" at you?
I would LOVe waygook in comparison.
