I was shopping at Costco early this morning with some friends and we spotted this sale that may interest others. I will explain everything so that any newbies would be able to get there and buy it, too. We were at the Yangpyung location in the heart of Seoul. If you need directions, just ask.

The sale was set up at a special display in the middle of the store in the lower level in the middle of the food section. The sale is buy any 12 bottles of German beer for 27,990 won. We were in a hurry so I didn't write down the names of the beers available (sorry), but I would suggest that German beer fans at least check it out.
Plus, the strawberry mousse pies were on sale in the bakery section but we were headed out after shopping so I bought cookies instead. Costco cookies never fail to please. |

Thanks for letting us know that. I might stop to see which ones they have. I'm not a big drinker, mostly because the booze here sucks. It would be nice to have a good beer every once in awhile. The Japanese beer is so much better then Korean beer.
If I get a chance I'll try to write down some of the names of the beers.
BTW which Costco was that at? Some of them are known to carry different things. |

The Costco near Yeongdeungpo-gu Office Station.

I forgot to add that we arrived at 8:45 am expecting to be first in the store, but the store was already open and had been for some time. There were people leaving the store who had already shopped and paid for their purchases, and the food court area was already filled with Korean shoppers longing after the precious plates of chopped onions and mustard. Plus there are aisles of Chuseok gift sets available with the usual products (Spam, ginseng, cooking oil, etc...) you can see as you exit the escalator. Are the Costco stores already open early for Chuseok shopping? There's nothing about that posted at the stores or on the website. |

The beer at Costco is Moninger from Karlsruh, Germany. There were 4 kinds. Pils, lager, dunkel and radler. 350cc bottles @ 2250 won each. Not a bad deal, but certainly not great.
You'd be better off buying Oettinger 500cc cans from E-mart @1650 won a can. |

Oh, OK beers.
Worth the price just for the change.
Wouldn't rave but pleasant enough. Love some ale, but everything seems to be wheat beer. What is with that anyway? |

The Costco in Ilsan is strict about opening time. Maybe, at that location, they will open the store early if there's a large crowd? |

| The Busan Costco had an 1831 stand. Tasting, bottles, little barrels of the stuff. Didn't bother trying it. |
