What exactly should I send to the Korean Embassy in London? I'm hearing very different and often contradictory things about what they want and what they don't want.
I received my notice of appointment in the post today and called the Korean Embassy in London. I was directed to their website by the lady on the other end who said that any questions that I have about what to do next can be answered there. the problem of course is that the website just left me feeling confused.

Do they really want a completed visa application form as well? the letter that came with my NOA mentions nothing about this, and looking at the form its pretty clear that a number of the questions are not really applicable to e-2 visa applicants who have gone through EPIK or a POE

I assume the E-2 checklist has to be filled in and sent too?

From a glance, Im doubtful that I could completely fill in section three because again I received my contract from the office of education, not an individual school like the form implicitly assumes.
I'm hoping to get this done through the post as my employer wouldn't give me time off this week to get down to London and do it in person |

You need to send a completed visa form (your issuance number goes on the front of this), an E2 checklist, two photos, the fee (which I think is 32 quid, but this seems to change all the time), and your passport. You also need to include a self-addressed pre-paid special delivery envelope to have your passport returned to you. That's everything I sent about 10 months ago or so. It's unlikely, given what the embassy say on their website, that it has changed from then. Try ringing up again and saying the list of things to them. Get them to confirm that this is exactly it. |

Its not so much the documents that bothers me, I'll send all the documents requested on the site anyway, as a precaution. Its more of a case of how am I supposed to complete these forms. Its easy enough with Hagwons I guess as you will know your contact in Korea, and you will know the school, its address etc.
In my case though, I have my notice of appointment from the POE that I am contracted to work with, my recruiter details and really thats it. I'm quite curious as to how Epik applicants filled out these forms. as they are in the same boat as me.
I should also mention that the Visa service is only open between 10am and 12pm. This is extremely inconvenient for me because I have to be at work at that time. I feel like I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place right now so I would be extremely grateful if anyone who has used a NoA before would be able to enlighten me as to what they are looking for on particular questions in the forms.
Bascially, what I want to know is how others with NoAs approached questions 17, 18, 23, 27 and 31 on the Application for Visa form, and Question 10 (a,b,c,d) on the Consuls checklist for E-2 applicants. |
