I came down with a nasty cold all of a sudden Wednesday morning. I over nighted in Bangkok airport Sunday night before going back to Korea on Monday so I might had caught it from Australian or New Zealanders in the cool dry airport. It's said colds come on 2 days after contracting it so that makes sense.

Would it be cold and flu season in Australia and New Zealand since it's Winter down there? I seen sick runny nose Western tourists during the past 2 weeks who seemed to be from down under. A cool dry international airport at a popular tropical destination seems to be a great place for a year round cold and flu season. It's just strange to have a full on cold in August up here in the North. My co-teachers are very concerned I might had brought nasty foreign bugs. I don't have a fever and feel like it's a February common cold so I didn't go to the doctor yet.

Anyone else getting sick right now? I think I'm going to look into a flu shot next month.

Hi

yes...you are right...it is winter downunder....

but I find I get the flu or a bad cold during the season change....I get sore throat and sometimes lose my voice and the usual cold symptoms...

Also working in a workplace with air conditioning can make it worse...I sit right next to the air con in the faculty office and my temperatures fluctuate a lot....

A Vitamin D supplement will prevent you from ever having a cold again.

Do you know a good one you can get here?

Not really. My GF was buying me Calcium supplements with D, which I didn't really like (I don't need extra calcium). My local emart just opened an incredibly well stocked Vitamin section that has good Cod Liver Oil caps. They were about 24,000 for 90. Unless your local Emart is the same as mine, you might have to get it sent from home.
