Its a bit of a shame that people think the anonymity of the internet gives them a free licence to be rude, arrogant, condescending, and aggressive. Its quite notable on this site in particular, a condescending tone is pretty much the norm. But it's no where near as bad as on youtube in terms of aggression/ racism etc.

It doesn't offend me in a personal way, (someone being rude to me would never actually ruin my day or anything) but it does seem strange.

I think people should try and speak decently to others regardless of whether they know them or not

Why don't you take a hike if you don't like it?

because in the land of Dave's, we are all richer, smarter, and more beautiful/handsome/well-qualified than anyone else, thus giving us the right to talk down the rest of humanity.

Because people don't follow posting etiquette.

1. Use the search.
2. Use the search.
3. Use the search.
4. Use the search.
5. And finally, if the information you are looking for is not found after actually clicking through threads and reading them, then post in the appropriate forum.

pkang0202

I can't say I agree here. People aren't rude because people are posting on topics that have already been covered elsewhere, they're rude because they're anonymous

I address people on forums the same way I address people in person. If people said some of the utterly idiotic things to me in person that they say on forums like these, they'd get the same treatment.

I've answered questions posted by people like "Where can I buy roll-on deodorant" and others, and then get hecklers who post sarcastic remarks and such.

Those instances make me and others wonder why we even bother.

All of the above.

I use a name that makes it very obvious who I am to prevent me from being particularly rude, but pkang hit it on the head. How many threads about sex shops in itaewon or do you hate it whens do we need? Or how many generic, non specific questions can people ask?

If you don't want snarky remarks, then I'll expand on pkang a bit.

1. Search. Can't find it?
2. Proper forum.
3. Have a SPECIFIC question, then ask it. Want more information, then ask more questions.
4. Don't be a wiseacre yourself. Karma, man...

The anonymity is a big part of it, but hey, I've never said anything on here that I wouldn't be willing to say to a persons face.
