|
|
My wife and I are friends with a couple here in Korea. She was here for a year or so went back home got maried and then her husband came a few months ago.
He is on a F-3 spousal visa.
What are his options for work? He doesn't have a degree but has been approached and worked, at a hagwon. He's got an offer from another now.
Anyone know a site to check all the regulations for the different visa types?
They are good ppl and I, and the other NET's, in our town don't wanna see him get deported.
Thanks |

F-3 is not a work visa, it's only a spousal visa. HE CANNOT WORK ON IT. If he wants to work, he has to get an E-2 or other visa for the work he wants to do. If he works illegally, he and his wife could get in big trouble if caught b/c she is the sponsor of his visa and responsible for his activities. |

He is and has worked. A hagwon offered him 1.7 a month just the other day. I need a site to check all the do's and don'ts of visas. Is there one? |

You can go to hikorea.go.kr
Take kprrok's advice seriously. He will be fined and both will be deported if caught working on F-3 visa. |

I just found this http://www.gone2korea.com/korean-work-visas.html
I'll give him a heads up. We live in a small area so I don't think he will get caught but you never know. Thanks for the help. |

Seriously? Living in a small area is the EASIEST way to get caught. There aren't as many foreigners so you stand out and immigration has an easier time keeping track of the whiteys it controls.
And just because a hagwon offers a job doesn't mean it's legal to take it. |

I never said an offer was a legal job.
We have over 28 EPIK teachers in our town. Maybe 100+ counting the hagwon and universtiy teachers.
It's illegal I get it. I've passed on the info. |
