Does anyone know where I can find a nice quality custom made suit or even purchased and tailored for a reasonable price?

I'm sure there are tons of places, but any well known good priced areas anyone can recommend?

Thanks

don't go to kim's tailor in itaewon. price is good, fabric was okay, craftsmanship was decent, but im sure you can get a better deal somewhere else.

unfortunately i cant offer you better advice than that. actually i can, don't be suckered into a shiny suit, they are hideous. and don't buy your ties from the subway. get a nice boss one.

After over 10 years here, this guy is by far the best tailor I've found.

http://www.gqtailorshop.com/

They are located in Songtan, and Mr. Yun speaks English. Also, his prices are almost half of those in Itaewon, and the quality is the best I've seen in Korea.

Phone number and directions are on the site.

Itaewon, expect to spend @ 450-500 for a custom suit. If you want to spend less, find someplace in your town where the price will drop 100-200 bucks. But it won't be custom. The custom jobs don't look that much better than an adjusted one, so shop around Idea

Be careful if buying a suit somewhere away from where westerners would normally shop because Koreans like their suits skin tight. Unless you're a 29 inch waist, I would recommend letting them know that you don't want this. Unless you do want to look like it was painted on you of course.

I bought a pretty nice custom suit in Itaewon for 250,000. I can't remember the name but it was on the corner, near the end part of Itaewon, on the side that had less traffic. Hope that helped..

I agree that painted-on tight is a bad idea, but a baggy American fit looks even worse. Seriously, don't pay all that money for a custom suit if its not gonna fit you and have a nice cut. A badly fitted suit just looks terrible.

Tell me which one looks better http://www.doobybrain.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/02/evan-ng-suit.jpg

Precisely. Many Korean men don't wear the proper suit but then again, neither do many American men. Wearing the proper fitting suit will do volumes for a man's appearance.

Is it worth it to pack a suit when leaving for Korea or is it easy to just rent one if I happen to need it when I'm there?

I'm won't be needing a suit regularly for sure, but I don't know if there may be some formal events I attend that require one.

Bangkok, Thailand.

Sukhumvit Road. Raja's is a well known one, but many many many to choose from. They'lll measure you and have your tailored suit ready for you within 2 days.

don't be an idiot and pay lots of dough for something that looks strange, probably doesn't fit and is silver and glittery. Buy your suit and all your clothes abroad when you go on vacation.

Renting a tuxedo for a wedding or formal occasion is normal, but most people don't see the need to rent a standard suit. It's just another part of one's wardrobe.
