My boyfriend is going to be traveling around Asia for some months. He'd like to pack light, and only take so many pants/shirts/etc. but they should be sturdy and some of them should have the option of being warm.

In general, it's difficult to find clothes to fit him since he's about 6'2" with about a 30" (or less Shocked ) waist. Are there any places in Seoul you could recommend him to check out for clothes that could fit him?

Where do you shop that would make it hard to find clothes for someone that's skinny and 6'2"? First of all, 6'2" isn't all that tall. I'm 6'1" and a number of my high school kids are taller than me. Also, this isn't the United States of Fat (where I'm from)--tight fitting clothes/small sized clothes should be abundant.

I apologize if you've genuinely been looking around and cannot find anything. I'm just in shock that that would be possible.

I personally am 6'1" (as mentioned earlier) and have a 32" waist and haven't an issue ever finding clothes anywhere in the world that I have visited. I can't imagine an extra inch of height and a few inches off the sides would cause that much trouble.

Haha, I came into this thread thinking your bf would be like 6'9" with a 30" waist--Stick Bug Man! Instead, I got Slightly Skinnier Than Normal Man.

I would have classified 6'9" as "really tall" and would have written the title accordingly.

It is difficult to find clothes that fit him well. Either they are tall/long enough, but too loose, or they fit well in the waist but are not long enough. You would be surprised what a difference of a couple inches in the waist can do to the selection of pant lengths.

Still looking for any advice in places to shop, especially for traveling clothes that can accommodate my regular-tall slightly skinnier than normal man.

I see.

Well, there's a huge chance you've already been, but I remember Uniqlo having some impossibly skinny pants for men.

Good luck in your ongoing search!

Not exactly related to the discussion, but if he's going to travel Asia for a long time and pack light, pick up some merino wool clothes. Super light weight, great in cold or warm weather, and most importantly, you can wear em for days on end without stinking. I absolutely love my icebreakers shirts:

Depending on where you are headed, get some tailor made when you arrive.

Pants can be done in a day, same with shirts. Prices of about 5-15k won (per item) are common for custom tailored clothes (pants or shirts) in most of SE Asia.

Thanks for the tips, ttompatz, DeMayonnaise, and Bloopity Bloop.

Once he reaches southeast Asia he'll probably get some things tailor made (or at least, I want to do so once I meet up with him during the winter), but for now something like the merino wool clothes are a lot like what he is looking for, something that can stand up to a lot of wear and are good for both warm and cool days. Guess they don't have a store in Seoul, do they Razz

Hmm, if he gets clothing tailored, perhaps he should wait until both of you hit certain SE Asian countries or something -- it's much cheaper to get tailored clothing there.
