Hi guys, I've been reading the forum for a little over a month, and I am preparing myself for my journey to Korea, but I do have one question that has crossed my mind: When your contract ends, how hard is it sign with a different employer? By this, I don't mean how hard it is to find a new job, but with respect to the E2 visa process, what measures does one have to take while in Korea?

Apply like you did the first go around. The only difference I encountered was that I could simply do a quick visa run to Japan rather than have to go back to my home country.

Have you gotten a new criminal background check? Get that going ASAP. Do you have your diplomas and transcripts?

Edit: Sorry, I bit tipsy...I didn't read your original post right the first time. You're not in Korea yet. You get your first visa in your home country. Subsequent visas can be obtained closer to Korea. Everything else is the same so far as I know.

a year from now you will need to do a visa transfer to a new employer. you need a couple of letters and about 60,000 to process this at immi

i did this in march and did not need to go to japan. it was a painless process
