|
|
I just arrived into this city 2 days ago. I'm wondering if anyone is down to meet up and give me a quick tour. My co-teacher has been friendly and great, but I'd like to get to know the surroundings through the eyes of another westerner.
If you've got the time and patience, first round of drinks are on me!
I'm near the Donam Elementary School. But other than that, I've no clue exactly where I'm at in Daegu. |

This will show you where you're at
http://gis.go.kr/multi/gis/gis.jsp?user_lan_id=1&user_lan_suffix=en&lm=AAA008&li=AA001000000000483123 You have to open in internet explorer. The bus routes are on there too which will help as you're pretty far out it looks.
There are a bunch of interest groups on facebook for whatever you're into, Daegu Friendship Club, Daegu Language Exchange, Daegu Vegetarians, Daegu English Teachers, Daegu Ultimate Frisbee, Daegu YMCA.
If you like to drink, try Daegu Pockets. They like to drink. |

Would be interested in hearing about any social gatherings / events in Daegu.
Bookclubs,
Theatre groups, improv...
Hold em games (not for money as erm, er, that's illegal, yeah uh, straight as an arrow me, wink wink)
Or any expat groups just based around genral socialising etc |

Hey OP, I'm hoping to get out to Daegu by the end of October...how are you finding it?
I was hoping I'd come across someone who's just arrived actually...hoping they could share their observations and experiences?
Where are you from?
I'd really appreciate a few lines on how you're settling in...I'm hugely grateful for any advice/tips, too!

Me too.
I'm arriving around 25th Sept.
Anyone willing to take in a newb / stray under their wing and meet up for a coffee or beer, shout me a pm. |

Take the KTX to Seoul.
Seriously, you can go hiking, window shop downtown, check out Costco, go to the Seomun and Chilsung markets. Or you can get loaded at The Comune bar. |
