Anyone know of any garage or garage punk in Korea? I love a lot of the stuff coming out of japan and was hoping to find some good stuff from Korea as well.

The punk scene in Korea is more early eighties style. The main club is Spot in Hondea. You won't find any punk bands with a pre-Sex Pistols sound. Racetraitor who sometimes visits this site and is on Facebook can tell you more.

recently there has been more hardcore in the korean punk scene..in fact, i'd say most of it right now sounds like 90s/2000s hardcore. not my favorite, but times/music change.

spot is a popular venue, as is DGBG and occasionally badabie. join the facebook group Korean punk - a guy there, Tel, sends out a weekly notice of upcoming shows (almost always fri or sat night)

You can always check koreagigguide.com too, it'll give you a rundown of all the shows playing.
The Korean punk scene has changed so much over the past couple years, it's kind of hard to keep up unless you're out at shows all the time.
