From today's Korea Herald:

  • Crimes by US Servicemembers up by 67.2%.
  • Crimes by SOFA status civilians up by 75%.

Well, at least the paper did have the gumption to plug in the actual numbers on which those percentages are based. But the above is a lot more scary than just saying:

  • The number of US Servicemembers committing crimes in 2009 increased by 78 over the number from 2008.
  • The number of SOFA status civilians commiting crimes in 2009 increased by 45 over the number from 2008.

And even that's worse than simply stating the actual number of individuals accused of commiting crimes in 2009 this way:

  • US Servicemembers commiting crimes in 2009: 201.
  • SOFA status civilians commiting crimes in 2009: 105.
  • Total SOFA status individuals commiting crimes in 2009: 306.

How about we just take the number of accused USFK Servicemembers as a percentage of the total number of USFK Servicembers? As one estimate of the strength level is 29,086, that would give us the following result: 0.69%. Isn't that a lot lower than the figure for the Korean population?

But, hey, let's not let simple facts get in the way of selling a paper or two. By the way, I wonder how many of those "family member crimes" were committed by Korean nationals or former Korean nationals (such as I've seen in news reports of black marketing).

{Edited to fix coding error.}

As opposed to The American Media saying that African American's are more likely to commit crimes, and that More AFrican Americans do commit crimes.

This has been false for decades, but they look at the prison populations to make this claim ignoring the fact that 75 percent of the African Americans in there are poor and were not adequately represented not to mention Jury bias and rushed prosecutions and sloppy investigations.

You know you arent committing that many crimes here

You know that Black people are not the Devil

Ignore it

Yeah, I'm intrigued. Please provide an instance in mainstream American media where that is stated.

"Crimes by African Americans and their families here increased by... "

I can't imagine a news article in the American media starting off with something like that.

Or you could post actual proof of that assertion instead of a general swipe at Fox. Anyway, I don't watch that channel because it's not included in my basic TV service package.
