I've just started playing Napoleon Total war. The graphics are pretty awesome. I also collect toy soldiers and paint them too.

Hopefully that game goes better for you than it did for the real Napoleon

Looking forward to WWI. That's got to be a groundbreaker.

A game about both sides camping in opposite sides of trench and wait until someone dares to charge.

Sounds fun....

NOT!

They're redoing Shogun for the next one.

Pretty stupid, imo.

Shogun total war doesn't need a remake. It needs another Rome Total War game.

Uh Shogun needs a remake much more than Rome does. Have you played shogun before? It's 10 years old

I kind of agree that it doesn't need to be done. Yeah, it's old, but that doesn't mean it's the best platform for a TW game. Shogun just can't be expansive enough, IMO, and you're not going to get the same clash of different military styles that you get from Rome or Medieval. I feel like they're making the game for the inevitable expansion pack that will include Mongolia and most likely China, Korea, and possibly Vietnam.

So, is there some kind of rule that older games needs to be remade?

Shogun was an ok game. But people actually got into playing Total War game after the Rome Total War.

The size and epicness of Total War game just isn't the same with shogun.

Medieval got remade. The first one, like Shogun, is pretty awful and doesn't hold up too well today. Rome revolutionized the gameplay style into something special. It was completely different from its prequels, even if its subject matter/setting was merely as good as Medieval's...the gameplay is what put it over the top.

I'd say Rome is sitll a fun game that does not need to be remade. It's basically doing almost everything the current games do now, it just lacks in shiny graphics and naval battles.

Napleon is fun but I think it lacks the depth of Empire. It's like a super sized expansion. Certainly worth playing for fans of the series. I look forward to Shogun, it does lack the depth of Rome or Medieval but it needs an update and its gets me another game in my hands sooner.

I've been playing since Shogun.

I've actually been avoiding putting Windows on my new MacBook Pro for the express reason that I know I would proceed to sit down with Total War in every free moment available to me while proceeding to gain 30 pounds of Pizza Hut and MacDo.

WWI could be innovative, with tech being the important change.

I would LOVE to see a Mongol Conquest game. Not an expansion! Clash of cultures? Challenging? Full of scope and depth? Wicked graphics ?

Mongol COnquest please, and start from the tribes in Mongolia....
