hey guys,

I am a German citizen living in Shanghai. I am holding a L visa which I got in Singapore and which I extended twice for 1 months each time within Shanghai. but on July 8th my visa expires and I have to leave China to get a new visa.

Can I get another L visa in Seoul? Even though I have no residence certificate there? Or can I apply for a F visa if I provide the required docs (I am doing an internship in China)?
An agency in Seoul told me that I can only get 30 days. Does anyone know whether I can get more than that? (I need at least 60 days)
Can anyone recommend a good travel agency?

any help is highly appreciated Smile
thx in advacne.

Just curious about the whole single/double entry situation. If I plan on going to China for vacation, do I need just a single entry or double? I'm only going to stay for about four days if that makes any difference...

Single entry if going for four days AND you stay in China for the whole time that you're there.

Double entry if you go to China, then leave for Thailand (example) for a few days, then re-enter China.

You don't have to come to Korea. Just go to a visa processing company in Shanghai, and tell them you want an F visa. It will be expensive, but they will take care of everything for you.

As i understand it, the chinese Visa rules have changed. As of 7/1/2010 all US residents in S.Korea must have 6 months remaining on their Visa/ARC. I was rejected from 2 travel agencies because i only have a few weeks left...

So I am thinking of boogying over to Hong Kong and trying my luck there. I know in the past this was an easy way to get a Chinese Visa. However as I understand obtaining a chinese visa in Hong Kong, as a tourist, has become increasingly difficult. Has anyone made this same voyage RECENTLY? Any advice?

I have just run into the same problem. I applied for my Visa yesterday with Hana Travel in Suwon and today I got an email telling me that it was rejected because my ARC expiry date is in one month. I am annoyed at myself for not knowing this before I applied, but also for the woman at the travel agent for not even telling me (I am assuming they are informed of all the new laws for Visas) I know I should have done a little more research but I didnt think that would be a problem. I will get my passport back tomorrow and I am trying to figure out what else I can do. I am spending 4 days in Beijing in late October and have already paid for my accommodation. I worried all day about it until it dawned on me that I am actually going to Thailand before I am in Beijing so I can get it there. I am pretty lucky, as I am guessing if I wasn't going to Thailand, I would be totally screwed.

So,I emailed a travel agency in Bangkok who can get me a visa for China while I am there and explained my situation. They told me that they will have to get back to me because if I have been rejected a Visa for China at the Chinese Embassy in Seoul I could run into problems....I think this is completely unfair if it does cause a problem. I am assuming because it was just an issue with the date on my ARC the visa process wasn't even started to be 'rejected'

Can anybody offer any advice on my situation and that it will be ok to get my Visa in Thailand? I am in a little bit of a panic over this....I feel very sorry for those who have no other option than to cancel their trips to China altogether.

From a little research, it sounds as if they consulate in Busan has not applied these new rules. Therefore,I think you could send your application/passport to one of the agencies in Busan to take case of this for you.

I just sent them an email to see if they'll accommodate.

I have around 5 months and 20 days left on my ARC and the people at the E-Mart Hanatour booth (one in Incheon) wouldn't process even a single-entry visa. 6 months or more is required. (What kind of bullshit new policy is this if you have to show that you've booked a ticket in order to get a visa anyway?)

in Busan there is a really good place by the Jungang Dong subway station. You come out on the opposite side as you would if you are going to ferries and there is a small building with a ton of travel agents. It was on the third floor. Called 중국금용항공 there number is 051-466-2633. Cost was pretty much the same as it was listed at the embassy page.

Anyone ever applied for a Business Trip (F Visa) in Korea? I'm going to be working in China next month and have received official documents from my employer but have been told I have to apply for a 90nday Business Trip visa.
My job will be short term but I've been advised not to apply for an employment visa.
