First question:
1. It wont get much bigger than what it is now. Most updates are small and the majority of that data is not from you updating. Also, check the updates you are installing, most of them are completely unneeded and frivolous.
2. As for the admin goes. Are you the only account on the login screen? If yes, you should have admin rights. If not, then you need to login to the other account and allow your user account to have admin access.
If you are the only account, and you still do not have access it could be a few different things.
1. Some Malware can prevent you from using your normal admin rights. To get rid of it. First, download and run Revo Uninstaller to remove all of your antiviruses. This includes the remainder of Norton that you have (trust me, half of it is still there) Next, Download Malwarebites and Avast!. Install them. Let Avast! run a boot scan and have Malwarebites search afterwards. That should remove most nasties.
2. It could be some antivirus that you are running. Since you said you downloaded a new one and deleted Norton. You may have conflicts between the two, or possibly three, programs. That can also cause admin issues. Again, use Revo to get rid of them.
3. Finally, it could be a corrupted user account, which happens, albeit rarely. In which case, you would need to create a new account with admin rights and delete the old one. |

Interesting.
I too have Windows 7 pirate copy from yongsan and it is running great, allowing MS updates etc.
I too have a user accoount but no administrator account.
How do you set one up? Curious because I want to do some things with networking that needs admin permissions and it's a 2 hr trek to Yongsan, so if you guys can help, that would save me 2 hrs of my life. |

| Well.... do you have the login for an admin account? Start there... then if you can login with that admin account just go to control panel/User Accounts and edit your main user account to be an admin. |

I don't have a login. I just click on the little robot icon and - hey presto - I'm into windows.
I know that probably sounds naive and annoying to you - but this a genuine question.
So go easy please! (I'm geting a trouncing in the Gen forum for being upset about it being hard to find decent jobs these days lol..) |

| by default the first account you make on your win7 box is an admin account. Are you sure you are not running as an admin? |

I can't be as it tells me those changes can only be made by an administrator etc. |

Try and right click on the icon for the program you wish to run and then select run as an administrator from the drop down menu that appears. |

| Yes, that is a good idea. If I were you though, I would just re-install your system. I could never run my system without running an admin account. |
