Quick question folks.
Typically how long would you expect a package to take in the process of being shipped from one city to another? Say Pohang to Suncheon in Jeollanam do for instance? |

Tom .
The problem is I bought an Ipad off of a guy on craigslist, everything seemed to check out. He was in pohang, leaving for Japan last Saturday. He shipped it Thursday supposedly, using regular mail. But, he deleted his email account. I have his name ,from the transfer from my bank to his. But, I 'm not sure whether or not I should go to the police yet, I"ve bought electronics through CL before, an XBX 360 and the like, for similar prices, and received the items. But, this time I have yet to receive it. The problem is I'm suspicious now, because he deleted his email account .This creates a very large problem for me, because I'll have to go about having the charges reversed, going to the police station, filing charges, and other assorted things. |

Confounds me why anyone would ship something like an IPad by regular mail when traceable services like EMS are not that expensive for something like this.
It does however sound suspicious but if you meant last Thursday (26) then it is still within reason for regular mail service.
I hope it was shipped to your school so the lady down the hall doesn't collect it for you.
Time is not on your side however; especially if he left the country and closed the bank account - it may already be too late.
Good luck in any case.

Well he has family here, and it seemed on the up and up, until he closed his email account. I'm giving the benefit of the doubt, until tomorrow. We'll be getting the police Cyber Crime folks involved. I just found the incident suspicious, after he deleted his gmail account .
http://lifeinkorea.kr/xe/buynsell/11132 was the link.
Hopefully I get it today, or tomorrow, that'll be fine. But, if I don't I will honestly go to Japan to find him. He's a Kyopo, studying in Japan. He has extended family that lives locally in Pohang.
I don't like being ripped off, by anyone . |

Forgot to ask for 'REGISTERED' regular mail? Called '등기(deung-ki)', trackable on Korea Post website, costs only about 1000 Won extra. That's what you go for next time, sending or receiving. |

You have his ip address in the header of his emails and his personal details from the bank, he's not getting away with anything. |

The IP addresses, I'm not sure about being relevant, being sent from a Gmail account. I have the other information though.
Still, VERY annoying. |

It's one of the risks you run when somethings being shipped I suppose. |

Still contains the ip address of the modem he sent the message from.
Unless a public connection or proxy was used that is... |

The IP itself returns as private network.
If I use only the first two sets of digits, it comes back
as linking to Finland. |

I just got back from the police station. Report filed, the beginning of the end for this person. I most certainly hope this didn't happen to anyone else. |
