I had my boss write me an LOR for my B.Ed. application. For someone who was such a terrible teacher as I was lead to believe I was come the end of my contract I seem to have gotten in with flying colours. |

I have a great LORec from my hagwon. The assistant director at my school spoke English very well and wrote a very nice letter (I had to do a little editing). Other schools have also called the hagwon and gotten phone references as well.
Key to success in Korea: Listen to your supervisor/director. As long as they aren't asking you to do something not in your contract (ie work Saturdays) at least try to do what they are suggesting. Then give them an update on how your attempt went. In my experience, all they want you to do is try your best and is that really asking so much? |

i wrote mine myself.
I said how great I was with the kids and staff, what my job entailed and that i was sharing culture etc as well as knowledge and a few extra things. Ialso said that I would happily employ me again in the future and wished myself good luck in my future job search and life etc.
I then gave it to a teacher who I knew couldnt be arsed to read it to sign and popped it in an envelope.
I now have a glowing reference from my previous employer. |

I got one from both of the hogwans I worked for and also from my public school. One was written by a native speaker. The other two were written by Koreans with questionable English skills and I helped them edit them (without changing the meaning) so that they didn't look like they were written by an elementary school student.
If you send me a PM with your e-mail address I will e-mail them to you. |
