I live on the western (boring) side of the subway map. My newest thrill has been my bicycle. But the only time I can ride it without almost dying or wanting to throttle a gaggle of Koreans (walking absent minded in the middle of everything), is at 2am-5am. I am looking for some weekend action. I am no Lance Armstrong by any stretch of the imagination, but I wan't to find a nice flat strip of say 5-10km. I know there are river bike paths, but how in the bloody hell do I get to them? |

Far too crowded during the day and night, as well as being a good hour subway ride from my house; but I might attempt it. Anyone no of anything on the Buk-Gu side of things? |

Samnak Riverside Park has a bicyce oval track. The park is near Sasang Station. There is also a bike path you reach from Dongnae Station. |

You can follow the path downstream for 20minutes (from Dongnae station) where it comes to the end, or if you head upstream it goes for miles and miles apparently. But very busy during daylight/evening time! |

Ok this is a great ride I do every few days......
Get yourself and your bike to Gwangalli Beach and find the far eastern side.. Now keep cycling East until you meet the Suyeong river mouth.. and turn and start cycling with the river directly on your right side. You can then cross over at the Shinseagae bridge and carry on with the river now on your left.. go alongside the park and then through the trucking area (this is the only bit not joined up yet).. after that you can follow the cycle trail miles to the outskirts of Busan and then all the way back again. This also joins up with the Oncheonjang stream trail (on the left side)which gives you an extra 25K round trip ....
and if you're feeling really ambitious at the top of suyeong you could join the road and cycle round the enormous reservoir to the north (have to hit the road at this point - I only got a couple of miles out on this one) check it out on Google Earth or Daum Maps..
Also isn't there the long river trail at Sasang near your side of town?... must give that one a go sometime...
Always be on guard for zigzagging koreans - for some reason inherently unable to maintain a straight line... |

When it cools down a little I plan to resume running on the trail beside the Nakdong but there's plenty of room for bikers going in either direction if that's your preference. I once ran all the way to Hadan. Most of the riverside in Bukgu is still under construction which means the Koreans don't seem to be too interested in going there; I rarely find many people around. It's easy to find from the Gupo Market or subway stop, and once you get past just a few minutes of horribly polluted BP-esque water you're in a nice, wide, relatively wide-open space that terminates up north in a bunch of farms. Hope you enjoy it! I've yet to see a waygook there so maybe I'll run into you sometime! |

Awesome ideas fellas. I am pretty sure I have my Saturday or Sunday afternoon plans. Bicycling is the only athletic thing that I actually enjoy. I am really close to Gupo. I can't wait to be some where I can go full speed with out some oblivious adjumma clogging the way and breaking my stride. |

Just FYI, the paths in Gupo lead to Sassang. It's a nice ride and mostly adjsoshi- free thankfully. |
