I am on my tenth day of antibiotics and I am miserable. I'm not sure what remedies are available here for the unpleasant side effects of high doses of antibiotics. I have some tablets that I got from the pharmacy that I will try but I also need recommendations on creams and natural remedies I can try. I'm going to try ask for acidophilus today and see how that goes. Any suggestions will be appreciated. |

err, there was a previous thread on this that mentioned garlic and yogurt suppositories. idk how big Korea is on "natural cures." the closest you will get is probably han-yak (Chinese medicine). |

yikes!
if you can find real yogourt (not the sweetened drinking stuff) and make a suppository of that, it will help (the only place I've seen that in Korea is the foreign food mart in Itaewon), garlic suppositories also help, as does eliminating bread, sugar (even from fruit) and beer from your diet for a week or so.
good luck! |

As said above, garlic and plain yogurt, ah, topically and orally. |

btw, that stuff you got in tablet form should (should!) be available as a cream at some places. just wander into every pharmacy you see, hold up the tablets and say "cream? cream?" I'm sure they'll get the idea... |

I tried all that junk and it didn't do anything for me. Go to the doctor, get the pills. The real pills cost the same as the crappy OTC stuff, and they are actually guaranteed to work!
Given the choice between making an oily and/or stinky mess of your down-there with dubious results or just taking a pill once a day for three days, I have no idea why I'm the first one to suggest this. |

I'm also a bit picky about using natural remedies, but this is a case where yogurt/garlic probably isn't going to help. Those tend to only be successful in situations that are very mild and early in stages. If you've been miserable for any more than a day or two, you'll need Canesten. They have it here in both pill and cream forms, and both 1 day or 7 day options. Simply walk into a pharmacy and request it over the counter.
I hope you're feeling better shortly. What a pain. Next time, I want to be a boy. |

By the way, if you ever really want guys to check out your posts/threads, simply label them like this one. A big capital ONLY works wonders too. |

athelete's foot is caused by the exact same fungus, so creams to treat that (which should be available over the counter, I would think) work too!
aren't you glad you read that one, boys? |
