security guards armed with firearms or tear gas guns.

That sounds like a great idea for a school. Rolling Eyes

I can see a lot of unforseen consequences resulting from this.

If the security guards handle their pistols the way I've seen the soldiers handle their rifles, keep an look out for a shot foot or even worse a kid.

What a laughably inappropriate response to a terrible problem. Has there ever been a single case of child abuse in which a security guard happens upon it, but is unable to stop it because he doesn't have a weapon? What bizarre scenario do the architects of this plan have in mind?

Insanity.

Its a boondoggle for the "companies" supplying these guards and security equipment. Wouldnt be surprised if the politicians who came up with this brilliant idea have a financial interest in this.

i guess if a guard should rock up at your school, you have to wonder why???
since there's only 1000 of these anti-crime fighters in a population of around 70 mill people. i say bring in cctv's and the death penalty for such vile offenders, wash-outs who chooses to destroy a poor young soul for life!
