Your employer has to apply to the labor office to prove that he can't find a qualified Korean to do the job.
Then he has to apply to immigration for permission to hire and sponsor a foreigner.
Then he has to apply to immigration for your visa confirmation number (show proof that you are qualified to do the job he wants you to do and you meet any other requirements that K-immi may request (all case specific). For an E7 it would usually mean specialist credentials and several years of experience in the field as an expert.
Then you can get a visa.

I had an E-7 for years. No problems. Get your sponsor to ask your
local immigration office what is neccesary. Then work backwards
from that. Ensure your resume and cover letter correspond to what
immigration wants. Also, I think it is limited to degree type. Business,
economics and another one I can't remember. I got mine by saying I
had a broad knowledge of Chinese economic and business trends.
(actually one of the textbooks I used in uni, I think, mentioned China)
E-7s are great, no CBC, medical checks, apostle crap, interview etc. |

Did you apply for your visa inside korea or outside of korea?
I found a person who has agreed to sponser me to do a scuba diver instructor with his business. I have been diving for almost 6 years and I can produce a visa to support my credentials on my resume. However, neither him nor I know what to do. |

Not true. If you will be teaching with your E-7, you will need CBC, original diploma, and transcripts. Just got a new E-7 last year and I had to do all of these things. |

I was a marketing manager for a Korean Electronics company. They
must have changed the rules. I never needed a CBC. I needed my
original degree and sealed transcripts. I didn't even have to leave the
country.
Scuba instructor is weird. I think you will have to spice it up a little.
Like "underwater robotics technician". That should get you an E-7 no
problems. Or maybe tell immi the equipment you are using is really
new and only you can explain to staff and customers how to use it.
I remember immi asking me why my degree didn't say economics. I
tried to explain that it was in the faculty of science and therefore my
degree said, B.Sc. Finally they understood. Thing is they don't care
what visa you get, they just like to cover their asses. I would get your
partner to phone immi and ask what to do. |
