Out of curiosity, would anyone like to recommend a place that does ear piercings (standard lobe, as well as helix/cartilage)? Bonus points if they do dermal punching or have some experience with stretching.
I assume that is a fairly rare thing in Korea, so I thought I'd ask. Sanitation, experience, and a decent ability to speak English are the main things.
Much obliged. :) |

My friends and I have had multiple piercings done at a piercing stall in a "mall" outside of Sillim Station. I really can't remember the exit number, but the building name is Renaissance. I had my upper ear cartilidge pierced, other friends have had many different piercings done there. It only cost 5,000 won. They did a good job. I'm pleased with it. (This is 3 months later..) |

I got my belly button done there over two years ago. It's been fine, but the hygiene was next to non-existent. No gloves, no autoclave (they swished the ring in some kind of disinfectant), done in the back with little privacy. Having said that, I've had no problems with the piercing, and it was cheap. In hindsight, it was probably a stupid risk to take, but I've suffered no ill effects from it. |

I had my ears pieced last weekend (yes, my first ever piercing at the age of 27 hahah) and had no problems at all with the place in hongdae. I assume it's the same place others are talking about? (i don't know 'cocoon'). However, I do know that it is along the street behind children's park, near the Watson's store there.
They had a lot of stuff for stretching, spoke enough english to get by (i don't speak korean), and seemed like a funky, fun place. Very helpful for a piercing newb like me. |

It's not finding normal piercing shops that's a problem, it's the larger stuff that is hard to ferret out. I can't seem to locate a place that does helix piercings with a 10 gauge needle, which is fairly common stateside.
Anyone heard tell of such a thing? |

I remember in Korea one of my gfs said "Oh you would look sooooo cool with your ear pierced". Just like the flock of other K guys with their diamond studs or hoops.
In time...I actually believed it.
Then I came to my senses.
Your gf is hypnotizing you!!!! Beware her evil powers!!! |

the place in hongdae seemed to have a variety of ear piercing equipment and jewelry sold. If it is standard stateside, i'd be willing to bet they do it too. |
