i have an external WD hard drive. It shows up as 235 gigs used out of 1terebyte.. I have a lot of files on there. When i click it and try to open it reads as being empty- no folders. I did a virus scan and it reads the files no problem. Any ideas?

Just google it, there's quite a few things it could be.

First step would be seeing if it does that when used with a different computer.

Thanks. Figured it out. It was the "short cut" virus which has been going around. Had to use some command prompt action, which is normally above my computing pay grade. But i got it solved with the help of some nice websites.
