Too much AC isn't good for the body (chills/ respiration).

I thought only Koreans held such absurd notions.

I sleep with the air conditioner on at 17 C and a fan blowing with windows closed, all at the same time EVERY night of the summer. I turn the air conditioner and fan on the moment I get home and turn them off the moment I leave the next day. My electricity bill is moderate, actually surprisingly low, and my HEALTH is great. O f course, I clean the machines every month and also have a HEPA air filter with charcoal filter going at the same time. The air is nice and cool and clean. Scientific studies show that ideal speep varies between 15-22 C depending on the individual, certainly not 24+ C as is typical for Korean summers without a/c or fan. A bad sleep can damper one's immune system, perhaps contributing to the odd illnesses felt during a usually common cold free time of the year.

I found I always caught a summer cold when staying a night away from home. I wear different night clothing, usually less.
Always relatively cold at about 4am.
When I go to bed, I dress for 4am, not the time I go to bed. I keep a light blanket close too.
Usually have a gentle fan on for an hour or two after going to bed.

I haven't suffered summer chills by dressing warmer on summer nights.
