but how much is it in the U.K?
i think that price was from an official notary rather than a solicitor who is also allowed to notarize documents. |

How much does it cost to get your degree notarised by a solicitor? Is it less than a notary public?
Is there an option of just getting your uni to stamp/sign a copy of the degree instead of notarising it? Surely the FCO can see it is an official signature from the university so they can just Apostille it from that.
I'm a bit confused about these new rules.
Thanks for any help. |

It should cost no more than 10 quid no matter where you get it done. If you are quoted more than that then you are being ripped off.
No, there is no option like that (as far as I'm aware). |

I have just spoken to a solicitor and a notary public, and they have told me that the FCO will not Apostille a document unless it has been signed by a notary public. I was told that this fee alone is 100 per document, then the 28 on top for the actual Apostille.
Please can someone verify what the FCO will actually accept in order to Apostille something? Will they accept a signature form a regular solicitor or does it have to be from a Notary Public?
Thanks |

| I just recently had my degrees certified by the British Embassy and then verified by the BC. It's a straightforward process overall. I had one copy of my BA and two copies of my MA certified/verified. Embassy cost was around 56,000won per document. BC cost was 120,000won for all three documents. A little pricey for sure, but it had to be done. Shouldn't take more than a couple of weeks to sort out. |

And the FCO had no problems accepting these and provided you with the hallowed stamp? How much was that? |

| I haven't sent them off yet, but I went through a similar process last year. I had a copy of my degree certificate stamped/signed by a BC official in another country and had no problems getting the apostille from the FCO. I think they charge around 25-30 pounds per document, but check their website to be sure on that. |
