Hey guys. I just moved to Daejeon and I'm having a really hard time finding a power converter. Home Plus no longer sells 220v to 110v converters, and e-mart didn't have any either. Has anyone bought one recently? I'd really like to find one locally instead of having to travel up to Seoul.
Thanks. |

emart used to sell tiny power converters
I think they called them Travel Packs.
it's only about 2x3 inches in size and looks like a plug converter only, but in reality can convert power too. Ive used it for a year now and in many different countries.
Mine says it's made by COSY and is called Power Port
white in colour and I think it was in computer section next to iphone accessories. |

How big does it need to be?
1-2 amps for a battery charger, phone charger, shaver, etc?
5-10 amps for larger stuff (stereo, etc).
15 amps for things with heating coils like a hair dryer or curling iron or TV.
30 amps for multiple appliances.

I'll be plugging my PS3 into it. I am reading a lot of posts though that are saying even though the back only says 110v it is really a universal power supply. |

Don't depend on it. How many Amps is the required input? I am sure it is less than 5 so...
You should be able to get a step down transformer from your local hardware shop or electronics (lights) store if you can't get one at e-mart, home-plus or Hi-mart.
