I'm a GEPIK teacher at a high school and I was wondering what other schools do if the apartment lease ends before your contract.

My lease ends 4 days before my contract and my school was originally going to pay a daily rate for me to stay there an extra few days if I gave a copy of my key to the landlord so she could show the apartment. I would have had to give the key over a month before the end of the lease.

However, now the principal has decided not to allow it and told my overseer that I can stay with teachers from the school until the end of my contract. Is this normal? I thought they would put me up in a love motel or something but staying with teachers from the school seems a little bit ridiculous to me.

Thoughts? Experiences? Ideas? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Make sure you make yourself at home by raiding the teacher's fridge and hugging the bathroom toilet, staying up late with TV fully blasted, etc.

They'll think twice about treating the next foreigner that way.

yeah that sounds ridiculous. They are just being cheap. If I were you, I wouldn't live with the teachers at the school for a few days. They should just let you stay at your place until you finish working.
