Hi all,

I am currently fostering a six month old kitten who is in need of a new home. I picked him up from a lady in Anyang who found him in her driveway and was rubbing up on her legs. He is very affectionate! She had two dogs that were trying to eat him so she could not keep him. I gave him the name Horangi (tiger) but you are welcome to change it!

He is a really relaxed cat. Mostly he just rubs against my legs, sleeps next to me, and purrs constantly. He is already house trained. He likes to play for about 15-20 minutes a day. For the rest of the time he is basically a lap cat. I have fostered a lot of cats and dogs in the past. This one is really well behaved, even considering his age.

I doubt that he had been on the streets for very long because he is so friendly to new people. Not afraid or skittish AT ALL. He has not been neutered yet, but I have checked him for flees and mites and there are none.

I'd like to know how things go with Horangi.

I have a cat that looks almost exactly like her. Except mine is 2 years old. I think mine would like company, as I am away for most of the day and she pesters the hell outta me at night, but I'm not sure how she'd deal with another cat yet, especially a male(I'm not sure if she has been fixed or not). I'm also planning on moving into a larger place soonish, so keep this thread updated, and maybe if Horangi still needs a home in the next couple of months I'll have one for him.

I have been pet fostering for sometime now. It is always hard to figure out if two pets are going to get along. Even if you know both of their personalities very well, one cat could simply just not like how the other one looks or smells. A meet and great is the best way to see if they are compatible.

I have had Horangi now for about a month. He is pretty docile as far as young male cats go, from my experience. When I first got him he was on the skinny side and liked to just sleep all day. Now that I have fattened him up a bit he has more energy to play. He is still a lap cat a lot of the time though Wink

What part of Seoul do you live in? I can bring Horangi to your place and see how they act around each other or you can bring your cat to mine. Let me know!

I'm in a very small place right now, waiting for a real estate agent to find someone to take over my lease. It would be too small for another cat at this point(the hair is incredible). And I'm a bit unsure of whether I'll be staying for just a year, or maybe more and don't feel quite right adopting another cat without knowing the length of my commitment(one is easier to fly with than two)...

I'm in Dongtan, near suwon, and I like the idea of a meet and greet, but I don't want to commit to it(read: very busy schedule as well) at this point until I have a few more things figured out.

How much longer do you think you will be able to care for Horangi? I bet he could find a home in the next few months, but if you're having trouble placing him please keep me updated.

I've never done it, but depending where you're from, it may not be too hard to take a kitty home with you. Every time I've flown from Korea to the US, I've met somebody traveling with a cat, and all say it's not to expensive.

THere are lots of vets in the Itaewon area that advertise their ability to arrange papers for animals to travel internationally.
