Im going to Philippines during Chuseok and have some questions
1. Do I need a visa?
2. Im def going to Bohol. Should I follow my friend and go straight to Malapascua from Cebu airport and then head to Bohol? (Problem here is I wont see Cebu and Im a bit of city rather than beach person)
Or
Seeing as Im not diving and would quite like to see Cebu and maybe go on a night out there should I stay in Cebu for three nights before Bohol?
Or go to Malapascua for 2 nights, then spend a night in Cebu before Bohol (My worry about this is whether it will be too costly, hectic and have too high travel costs) |

1) Not for a stay of less than 21 days.
2) Not a diver, do Cebu and Bohol (as your beach stop) or do Cebu and Malapascua as your beach stop.
3) domestic travel costs are minimal (unless you are taking a taxi across the province and catching a boat from Bogo.
As an example, the fast ferry from Cebu to Bohol (2 hours or a bit less) is p300-500 and the slow boat (2-3 hours) is p200 (+ 1 hour in a van for p100 more). You can catch a banka/pump-boat for about p150 + the van ride.
Nights in Cebu can be expensive but don't have to be. Taxis in town are cheap and plentiful so getting a hotel away from the night life and catching a cab is not a problem. (If you are looking at the terraces at Ayala for your evenings' entertainment you can catch a room at the Marriott for about p5000 per night or spend p60 for a cab and get a decent room at the golden peak (or other business hotel) for about p1500 or the castle peak for about p1000.
There are cheaper places to stay but for the small amount you save it is not worth the bother or risk.

Traveling by yourself is no big deal and if you want a date (real date not pay for play) then hit up any of the nice lady staff you meet in the department stores.
Chances are they will be single (job requirement to get hired), interested in dinner, conversation and perhaps dancing or a videoke after work.
After that you are on your own for your entertainment.
Down on the beach - again it is no big deal. Have fun, rest, relax, have a massage (p500 per hour), avoid the sunburn and enjoy the san migs.
