Duty free?
200 cigarettes and 1.14 liters of booze.

On the other hand, for anything else, since you have been gone for over a year the limit is $10,000 as your repatriation allowance (some restrictions - must have owned for more than 6 months and must have been used) + $750 "no use restriction".

After each absence of 7 days or more

You can claim up to CAN$750 worth of goods without paying any duties. Although you can include some tobacco products and alcoholic beverages, a partial exemption may apply to cigarettes, tobacco products and manufactured tobacco. See the sections called Alcoholic beverages and Tobacco products for more details. With the exception of tobacco products and alcoholic beverages, you do not need to have the goods with you when you arrive.
********************************************
You are allowed to import only one of the following amounts of alcohol free of duty and taxes:
* 1.5 litres (53 imperial ounces) of wine;
* a total of 1.14 litres (40 ounces) of alcoholic beverages; or
* up to a maximum of 8.5 litres of beer or ale.

I travel internationally on a weekly basis and often bring in two or three 1-liter bottles of hard alcohol into Incheon. The limit is 1 liter but I never have any issues.
I'm also Korean and I'm sure some of the customs officers must recognize me by now though, so your miles may vary.
Edit: As for cigarettes, they are already crazy cheap here so I'm not sure why you'd want to bring any in. I guess you do save some money as a carton is around 12-18USD at ICN. |
