I'm taking the ferry from Pusan to Fukuoka with a friend on Friday and we'll be touring around northern Kyushu for a few days. Because of the crappy exchange rate we'd like to avoid converting won to yen, but since we both have money in US bank accounts we'd rather exchange US dollars to yen directly (still crappy rate, but better). Is there a place to do this in Pusan- take money out on a credit card advance or debit/ATM card and convert directly into yen before heading over to Japan? |

Your foreign debit card will work in just about every post office and 7-Eleven ATM machine in Japan. |

Yay, that's good to hear. Will seek out 7-11s and post offices, then. I lived in the boonies when I lived in Japan in 2002-03, and found the banking system really backward at the time, but probably things have improved since then. |
