I found it at the Foreigner Mart in that funny area of town. I was there 2 months ago and found sour cream that comes in a box in the back left cooler on the top shelf. Their selection changes all the time so this could be outdated info. Sometimes you can get this or that and other times, you can't.

Homeplus and Lottemart also have them on a pretty regular basis.

Also, I know that the Emart at Yongsan Station has it. I have never had a problem finding it there.

The only place I've found it on a regular basis after over 3+ years of living here is at Costco and the Itaewon foreign foods mart. Apparently some of the big box stores carry it from time to time, though the three in my neighborhood (Emart, Homeplus, GrandMart) never did.

I've always seen sour cream in E-mart and Kims Club in Gangnam. I wish the tub of sour cream wasn't so big.

The Denmark plain yogurt they have at most emarts doubles as a pretty good sourcream. All the other plain yogurts I've tried are sweetened.
www.nicedeli.com has it, though they also have a 50,000 order minimum.

I make my own yogurt in my ricemaker, and let it get really tangy before refrigerating it. I use this as a sour cream substitute, and it also goes really nicely with preserves or muesli.

Buy or make some yogurt. Sweetened will probably work as long as it has live, active cultures.

Buy a pint of heavy cream. Pour it in a jar. Add a big tablespoon of yogurt. Let it sit on your counter overnight until it gets firm. Stir.

You now have sour cream.

+1 to the Kim's Mart comment

The one by me always has it. Expensive though.

I've never seen it at E-mart. I always get mine at Costco.
