|
|
Hello everyone,
I know Korea has a rich archery tradition, and I'd like to find a teacher or club where I could take lessons, preferably in the Gangnam area. I've taken some lessons before and would like to continue the study here in Korea. Does anyone know where I could take a lesson (in English), if not in Gangnam, then somewhere else in Seoul proper?
Thanks.

Someone on this site is fairly knowledgeable about Korean archery. User name is something like RedSea, GoldenPond.... something like that. |

Very funny, T.J.
spir4l, there are about a dozen traditional archery clubs in the Seoul area, so I could direct you to one closest to you--let me know. However, if you are interested in Western-style archery, you will probably have to ask around. |

I'd really like to learn the Korean style while I'm here. I live closest to Daechong station in Gangnam. If you know any clubs that are roughly in that area, that would be wonderful. Do you know if they teach in English, or enough English that I'd be able to follow along?
Thanks so much for the info. |

There's a traditional archery range near Seoul National Uni. Also one on Namsan Mt. and another in downtown behind Kwangwhamun. I know of one foreigner getting English lessons from the one on Namsan. |

Are there any websites that list this information in English? |

Unfortunately, none that I know of. It's something I probably should have done and put on my Korean archery website (www.koreanarchery.org), but, as is often the case, I never got around to it. |
