So, I went to get my medical check on Tuesday, and one of the results came back a little weird. (urine test--something detected, NOT drugs or anything like that) They acted as if it wasn't that big of a deal and want me to get another test tomorrow. What if the test still comes back the same? Will this affect my job?

You might have just had higher than normal amounts of protein in your urine. It's common, especially if you're sick or have been taking certain OTC or prescription medication. As long as you didn't test positive for any of the hard drugs that they're checking for, or for something like HIV, you have nothing to worry about.

Well, my back has been hurting, so I think that it is a kidney infection. I am worried, and was alarmed to find this result. My boss and co-teacher told me to drink a lot of water tonight, so that is what I am doing.

If you think you have a kidney infection you should go get an actual examination at a hospital. They generally just need to test the urine for bacteria.

Kidney infections can permanently impair kidney function and lead to serious disorders.

Yeah, I talk to my sister. She is a nurse, and you are both right. I will probably tell my boss tomorrow that I need to have an examination.
