Ah, I'm on the list for the next one in November. Taking intermediate. I rated a level 4 on the KPE, but it seems that the TOPIK is quite a bit harder.
What level are you going for? Where are you taking it? Let us know how it goes! |

| I'm testing at 숭실대. First time taking the test, so I'm being a bit of a wimp and taking the beginner test to get one under my belt, see how the test is administered. I'll take the intermediate in the spring and if that goes well the advanced in the fall. |

| What have you done to prepare for it? I noticed Daragwon has textbooks for the Topik tests, and once I've completed the 가나다 book (which is driving nuts with all the formal politeness level), I'll be looking for something to prepare me a bit better. Am hoping to the beginner test in November. |

| I've been going through past tests that are available on the TOPIK website, and reviewing my old Yonsei text books. But honestly for the basic test, I haven't done much. I'll have to hit the books and flash cards a bit for the intermediated and advanced though. |

I'm surprised you feel the need to mess about with the basic level even though your purpose is to get used to the test. With your level you could have gone straight for advanced or intermediate at the very least I would have thought. I passed upper intermediate (level 4) a while back and your Korean is clearly considerably better than mine...
Something you may want to note for next time is that if you have lots of stamina, you can actually do intermediate and advanced on the same day although you would have to advanced in the morning and intermediate in the afternoon, which might be a bit strange. It would probably be a good morning warm-up if it were the other way around...
Anyway good luck with all your tests. I imagine you will get very close to 100% on the basic one. |

Hello everyone.
I'm taking the advanced test tomorrow, I took the intermediate test last year and got my level 3.
If you're just taking the beginner level, you have nothing to worry about as long as you can read time and make a sentence, know the politeness levels etc. The beginning level is crazy easy.
However, as soon as you get up to the intermediate level, it's like they are really getting serious about korean and you have to really study. Really hard. It isn't easy. You have to know the difference between certain verb endings and when to use them. Also because of the time constraints you can basically just read the questions once.
Anyways since you are just taking beginning level I wouldn't worry =)
And good luck on the test! |

My friend took level 5 a few months ago (if this is the same thing we're talking about) and he says most Korean's wouldn't know the answers to a lot of the questions.
I think he's safe to get Korean citizenship now though. |

You don't get the test back. If you have time write your answers down on another piece of paper then when they post the test and the answers online for other people to study from you can use it =)
And yeah I'm studying for level 5/6 and most korean people can't help me.
There are things in there from the bible o_o
It's crazy |

Oh and you can take any test you want. KLPT or TOPIK.
However, TOPIK is the only one officially recognized. I found KLPT VERY easy compared to the topik test. |

Man, the level 1-2 TOPIK test (yesterday) was NOT easy for me.
The first half seemed a little different than the TOPIK tests from the past that I've been studying. The second half (listening and reading) was like the past ones, though.
How did others find the level 1-2 test? |
