Yep, it's a CRAP book for sure. I hate it. A book full of pictures....lots of coloring and coloring and pasting. You're better off just throwing it out the window and going with stuff from your head. Relying on that book will get you nowhere fast!

I think that almost all kids are capable of learning phonics. Starting with a Mr. Bugs, Up and Away, or other phonics book is a good idea.....then move on to the Let's Go Series.

Another horrible book is Balloons. There are three books in the series (I think just 3) and they are composed of just pictures. The work book is basically a coloring/cut and paste book. What a waste of time.

The Lets Go series (well the first few) are a load of bull.

Yeah I think I prefer the Up and away series for an intro.

Strange. After Starter and maybe Book 1, I didn't think the PArade Series was so bad. I used "Supertots" (yes "Tots") with a kindergarten class before. It wasn't much help but then I was pretty useless with the youngsters myself.

I thought "Chatterbox" and "Best Friends" were good series (or is that serieses?)

I struggled through Supertots 1 and 2. It was a nightmare, I hope I never have to see Sammy kitten again. Now I have Bingo starter for a different class and the songs are useless, so I substitute songs from Gogo 1, those songs are snappier. Gogo 1 works much better for my kids and they like it.

If you look in the front of the Parade books to see who has endorsed the series, it becomes clear that the book was written for Spanish speaking students and takes into account the difficulties that they will have with the language, not northeast Asians.

There's plenty of other material written with the concerns of Koreans in mind. As some one else said, the Up and Away series is quite good, at least the lower levels. I have never had to teach the upper level books except the phonics.
