Hi,
I am a guitar player in the Suwon area interested in getting a casual jam session together. I am a competent picker who likes to play country-blues, ragtime, and acid folk stuff. Just seeing if there are other folks around here who drink from the same well. |

I'm up in Seoul, but the mention of Harry Smith is enough to get me on a bus for a jam....
Which, I play clawhammer banjo and saw amongst other things. |

ha! I'm an upright bassplayer and just got the entire Anthology Collection.
However, I live in western Incheon and have myhands pretty full right now. I also know of a mandolin player keen to folk. |

I cannot speak for him and his availability. I sent him the thread link.
Sadly for you, there was a fantastic female folk vocalist / fiddler living in Suwan up until about 6 weeks ago. She was a trailing spouse to an engineer. She cried in her beers out of loneliness to play old folk tunes with others. She played with my bands on occasion but Incheon was just a btch to get to. When she sang orange blossom special even the Koreans danced a jig. |

I used to bang out jigs and reels every Wednesday for a couple years a few years back. I'm out in the sticks though. |

There's an Irish session that meets about once a month in Seoul. |

Banjois, you play singing saw? Does that mean you are a flatlanders fan? I would love to play some of those tunes. |
